GROUND CONTROL TO ANYONE LISTENING (2020)

Painted linen, grass seeds, soil, wood

Ground Control was temporarily installed in a public park in the Moabit district of Berlin. The “stuffing” of the soft sculpture is a mixture of grass seeds, and soil, which needed daily watering and tending in order to sprout. The center panel of the sculpture includes a silhouette image of an ultra-light aircraft (ULA), which are used to teach cranes raised in captivity how to migrate.
